Holidays are meant for the entire family. No one wants to leave the furriest member at home.

I've been sniffing out dog friendly accommodation in Ireland. I look for places that don't just tolerate furry family members, but welcome us.

I think I've hit the jackpot with this one.

Have a read of my stay at The Hilton Charlemont, in Dublin 2. I'm pretty sure you're going to want to book your own pet friendly room!

Checking In

Check in was supaw easy. I walked into the lobby, got my key and then took my lift up to my room. No restrictions on any of that.

I got into my room and had some water from the doggy bowls provided by The Hilton.

The room was spacious and cosy, plenty of room for me and my human.

There was a dog bed ready and waiting for my nap too.

Pet Friendly Rules

I have to say, the Hilton is the real deal in terms of being dog friendly.

I was made feel welcome from the moment I set paw in the lobby.

I was allowed in the lift, the lobby and in my room of course and there were no surprise rules for me as a guest.

Toilet Breaks

It's really convenient for toilet breaks too. There is a grassy area just across the road from the main entrance.

Size Doesn't Matter

I know I'm smaller than most dogs so I asked them about a size restriction for bigger furry guests.

Good news! Large dogs are welcome too! The only restriction is weight up to 75 lbs.

If you are travelling with two small dogs you are welcome to book a room too. And it's not just for dog guests, cats are welcome too! Though I didn't see any while I was there.

Doggy Dining

dog friendly restaurant, Dublin, Ireland

You have three options for doggy dining at the Hilton.

You can dine on the heated Terrace, overlooking the canal.

I had my dinner and breakfast on the heated Terrace. It was warm enough that mom didn't need a jacket and it was fun to watch the world go by along the canal as we ate.

If you prefer to eat inside you have that option too! You can book a table in the lobby/reception area where they have tables and cosy seating.

You can also order room service!

They don't have a doggy menu so you will need to make sure your human brings your favourite meals with you.

You aren't allowed in the Hotel bar or bistro unfortunately, but dining in the Terrace was enough for me!

Dog Friendly Dublin City - The Pawfect Location

dog friendly Dublin, Hilton Hotel

I loved staying in the Hilton. Not just because of how cosy and dog friendly it is, but because of the location too.

The Hilton is located in Charlemont, Dublin 2. This is close to so many dog friendly cafes, making it the pawfect city stay for any furry guest!

You can take advantage of your stay at the Hilton and pop around the corner to St Stephens Green for a walk and then grab a dog friendly coffee in Brew Town.

Or you can take a stroll along the Canal and take your pick of dog friendly places, like One Kinda Folk, Nock Nock Cafe, Wall & Keogh, or Grover Road.

And that's just to name a few. For a full list of dog friendly places in the area have a look here.
